Dear Lonely Soldier...

Dear Lonely Soldier,
The cognomen is not strange, though further than that, you are a fusion of God’s mercy, grace and love. You are a sole beneficiary of the realities of God’s pleasure, this behoves you the responsibilities of a custodian of His blessings in your life.
A soldier is one equipped with weapons of war as accorded him. The equipage of his makeup: A helmet of brass on his head, an iron shield, a combat boot, hand weapons of varying potency and missiles; he is armed with a mission to establish compliance by force. He is engaged in military service.
Most plausible, he is a member of a troop- this implies that he responds to an instituted command; usually, a captain directs his lines of action. Whether or not, he is with a troop, he is charged to keep alert and watchful with strong purpose and perseverance of an emissary for law and order. He takes orders from a superior but if he has to go into battle without informing his superior, he is a lone soldier. It must be that faith had risen in his heart like Jonathan (Saul’s son) who was a bold and daring young man who drew up a plan of action to initiate battle at the enemy’s camp. “One day, Jonathan son of Saul said to his armour bearer, come; let us go over to the Philistine garrison on the other side. But he did not tell his father” 1Samuel 14: 1 (AMP) He kept his vision from Saul, his father, for Saul had lost touch with God. Saul would have put out the little flame of faith glowing within Jonathan and would have discouraged him from trying.
Jonathan’s lone plan involved climbing the steep cliffs that the Philistines thought protected their position. He was not deterred that these cliffs could be a barrier, he trusted God rather than in human strength. “And Jonathan said to his young armour bearer, come and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that The Lord will work for us. For there is nothing to prevent The Lord from saving by many or by few” 1Samuel 14: 6 (AMP).
Beloved, if you think that you might be alone in your life battles, be sure to know that God is with you, if The Lord is for you, none other can prevail over you. You need to rely on God to accomplish His purposes, like Jonathan, you must act in faith that God is able to save and deliver. “One man of you shall put to flight a thousand, for it is The Lord your God who fights for you as He promised you” Joshua 23: 10 (AMP).
Christian soldier, the moment you accepted Christ’s saving grace, you got enlisted in an army. Be reminded that you are constantly engaged in a war and you need both power and armour to be protected. God is the strength of your power, whose might will enable you to resist the enemy. “Be strong in The Lord {be empowered through your union with Him}; draw your strength from Him {that strength which His boundless might provides}” Ephesians 6: 10 (AMP).
God has provided the full armour that you need, but you must put it on before you can effectively use it. You fight forces that exercise limited powers in opposition to God, they are behind the world’s system that opposes God’s will for your life. It is important that you recognise the spiritual nature of your opponents and thus understand the reality of your need to use spiritual weapons to combat them.
Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Church in Ephesus describes God’s provision of your armour:
 The Belt of Truth is your knowledge of the truth that is of Jesus, the gospel of Christ and the Bible. Lack of the knowledge of the truth always leads to destruction. “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge”... Hosea 4: 6 (AMP). The truth in right proportion on your mind will prepare you for battles that lie ahead.
 The Breastplate of Righteousness is the covering that Christ gives you when He supplies you with His righteousness. It is the protection of your character and integrity. Self righteousness will take you nowhere! In fact ...“all our righteous acts are like filthy rags”... Isaiah 64: 6.
 The Sandals of the Gospel of Peace prepares you to reach out to spread the good news of the gospel of Christ that brings ultimate peace to the world. God considers your feet beautiful when they go forth to impact lives. ...“how beautiful are the feet of those who bring glad tidings! {How welcome is the coming of those who preach the good news of His good things!}” Romans 10: 15 (AMP).
 The Shield of Faith is used to stop flaming arrows hurled at you, by the enemy. Your faith is anchored in the foundational truths of your salvation. Your strong faith in God will make the devil’s assaults ineffective. “Lift up over all the {covering} shield of saving faith, upon which you can quench all the flaming missiles of the wicked one” Ephesians 6: 16 (AMP).
 The Helmet of Salvation is for the protection of your head in battle. It is the forgiveness of your sins and your reconciliation with God, His gift of grace and eternal life. It protects you and gives you a sure hope of ultimate deliverance from this body of sin and wicked world. Beloved, you would not want to lose your helmet of salvation- the devil is at a desperate target of your head! “How shall we escape {appropriate retribution} if we neglect and refuse to pay attention to such a great salvation {as is now offered to us, letting it drift past us forever}?”.... Hebrews 2: 3 (AMP).
 The Sword of the Spirit is the only offensive weapon that you carry; this is God’s Word. This weapon has more power to wound and defeat the enemy (devil). “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power {making it active, operative, energizing and effective}; it is sharper than any two-edged sword”... Hebrews 4: 12 (AMP).
Esteemed of The Lord, you must always “pray at all times {on every occasion, in every season} in the Spirit with all {manner of} prayer and entreaty. To that end, keep alert and watch with strong purpose and perseverance”.... Ephesians 6: 18 (AMP). A soldier of Christ derives strength, power and discipline through prayers and supplications. Praying in the Spirit means far more than tongue speaking. It is that you commune with The Holy Spirit so that you are able to pray according to God’s desire; it is that you are not praying amiss!
The result of all therein written is victory, victory and victory. The entire Philistine army was thrown into confusion by the fall of their key garrison. Their panic heightened when the earth quaked and some ended up fighting each other- (1Samuel 14: 15, 20).
The Lord takes up the battles of him that trusts Him. He says:
“In the still, quiet time, I hear you, I know you,
I made you for me. I am with you even till the end.
Hold on through the storms and battles of life;
Smile, because even then, I am working it out for you. Just for you...
Smile... I know!”
